The Maydays
Led by Pat Johnson, the Maydays stormed onto the San Francisco scene in late 2001 with their R & B fueled power pop. They produced one brilliant 45 for Flare Records in 2002, then vanished as fast as they arrived.

“THE VERY LAST TIME”
b/w
“ YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT”

Debut single by The Maydays, San Francisco’s premier garage-soul combo. Produced by Alec Palao (Sneetches/Joe Foster/Ace Records reissue expert) “The Very Last Time” is an instant mod-pop classic; the flip "You Don’t Have to Wait", a slow burning soul torcher. It’s a Carnaby Street/Muscle Shoals-styled one-two punch.

Straight outta San Francisco, The Maydays come forward with their debut 45. Among the members you'll find such well-known people as Alec Palao (re-issue expert at Ace Records, giving us the Dave Davani Four among other things) and Ron Silva (Crawdaddys, Monarchs and other seminal bands). "The Very Last Time" is a fab pop tune that reeks of summer sunshine. These guys truly know their craft. The flipside "You Don't Have to Wait" is described as a "slow burning soul torcher" by the record company and I'd like to second the emotion. Splendid performances from everyone involved, plus a top notch production done by Alec Palao. Richard Karström- Uppers Organization
