The wait is over- the debut LP is now available for sale. Seven smoking Soul Jazz originals by Nick and the Set, mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios and pressed on a monster slab of high quality 180 gram vinyl by RTI. Simply put, the sound quality is AMAZING. Nick and Flare spared no expense and no small amount of time making sure we had the best sounding recording available, and we are pleased as punch by the result. This is a co-release with the good folks at Hammondbeat Records (they are offering the CD and Flare has the vinyl).

Hammond organ combo the Nick Rossi Set have recorded a relaxed and swinging version of the 1967 Classics IV hit, too smokin' to confine on one side! Produced by Carl Rusk (of the Black Diamonds), this was recorded straight to 2" analog tape, no overdubs, with a tip of the hat to the legendary Rudy Van Gelder and the Blue Note Sound.

Nick started with R & B groups The Loved Ones and Ron Silva & the Monarchs, and has been leading his group on Hammond since 1997. Heavily influenced by the classic soul-jazz and boogaloo recordings on Blue Note and Prestige from the 50s through the early 70s, Nick's fave organists include John Patton, Larry Young, Lonnie Smith and Brother Jack McDuff. This is his third single leading the Nick Rossi Set.
